We had glorious sunshine last Saturday for our bus tour of north Monaghan..
The tour was organised by Monaghan County Council as part of the support it gives to Tidy Towns groups through the Co Monaghan Network of Tidy Towns Groups & Residents Associations. Some 35 people from all over the county spent the day viewing the work of various groups in north Monaghan. Places visited included Ballinode, Hollywood Lake, Scotstown, Tydavnet, Emyvale, Emy Lough, Glaslough and Monaghan Town. Refreshments were provided en route by Ambledown Cottage in Glaslough village. Thanks to all the groups who met the bus in each location, to explain their projects and discuss what they have learned with the other groups.
The next activity for the Network is a Bees & Pollinators workshop on Friday, 9th August at 7pm in the 4 Seasons Hotel, Monaghan. The talk will be given by Dr Una Fitzpatrick, ecologist with the National Biodiversity Data Centre. The talk is free, and is open to the public.
