Wildlife Walk in Monaghan town to mark National Biodiversity Week

On Saturday 30th May, the Irish Wildlife Trust and Monaghan Tidy Towns will be hosting a ‘guided wildlife tour’ of some of Monaghan’s urban habitats including Peter’s Lake, the Ulster Canal Greenway and St Davnet’s grounds. Walking footwear will be required. There will be interpretation material supplied, including ID keys, guides and recording sheets.

We will meet at Old Cross Square at 11am and the event will be approximately 2 hours long.

All are welcome and the outing will be suitable for all ages and is free to attend. Some wildlife challenges for children will be part of the event.

National Biodiversity Week is Ireland’s annual celebration of the diversity of our wild species and habitats. Biodiversity Week is sponsored by the National Parks and Wildlife Service, The Irish Environmental Network and Notice Nature.
